Solana Mobile — The Web3 Mobile Evolution
Learn how innovations like TEEPIN architecture and the SKR token are helping create an open web3 mobile ecosystem.

Solana Mobile was founded with a clear mission: to bring down the walls that divide developers from users, and that separate web3 from mobile. What began with pioneering devices like Saga and the upcoming Seeker has evolved into something much larger — a comprehensive platform that's expanding to welcome new devices, new manufacturers, and a new approach to mobile ecosystems.

Solana Mobile is expanding by building an open mobile ecosystem that extends beyond our own devices, one where builders are liberated, users are empowered, and everyone shares a stake — all powered by the Solana blockchain and cryptographic capabilities already present in most modern devices.

The Solana Mobile platform is growing by decentralizing the economy, incentives, and ownership of the platform itself — everything from device access to distribution and dApp store curation. While Seeker remains the Definitive Web3 Mobile Device by offering the best mobile crypto user experience available anywhere, the Solana Mobile vision extends to ensuring that mobile users everywhere can access a seamless and secure onchain experience.

This expansion requires two fundamental innovations. To maintain trust and security as the platform expands and decentralizes, we’ll need a new type of architecture.  And to democratize ownership and align collective decision-making, we're introducing SKR —  the native asset of the Solana Mobile economy.

TEEPIN: Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network

TEEPIN serves as the technical foundation for Solana Mobile's expansion. It's a three-layered framework that connects secure hardware, verified software, authentic users, and a network of community Guardians to create an open, decentralized mobile. It represents a fundamentally different approach to mobile platforms. It creates the foundation for a platform where all participants can access, own, and shape the future of their network — free from walled gardens and centralized authorities.

Hardware Layer: Built-in Trust Protocols

The foundation starts with secure crypto hardware that's already present in most modern devices. TEEPIN leverages Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) — secure areas within smartphones that operate independently of the main operating system, like a protected vault that even the device's core software cannot access. On the Solana Mobile platform, TEEs enable devices to attest to their identity, boot status, and software authenticity through cryptographic proofs. This hardware-backed trust creates verifiable state that the entire network can rely on, eliminating the need for centralized authorities to validate device integrity.

Platform Layer: Where Verified dApps Meet Authenticated Users

At the Platform Layer, verified applications connect with authenticated users through on-chain verification processes. When devices boot up, they prove their legitimacy by validating their credentials against blockchain records. Applications follow similar verification paths to ensure safety and authenticity. This creates an environment where mobile-first dApps can reach users worldwide without traditional gatekeepers or excessive fees, while providing users with exclusive access to cutting-edge applications unavailable elsewhere.

Network Layer: Community-Governed Trust

The third layer of TEEPIN establishes a decentralized trust network spanning all devices and applications. Rather than relying on corporate oversight, platform integrity is maintained by a Guardian Network—community leaders and organizations who validate devices, verify applications, and govern platform policies as the ecosystem scales. This tokenized platform control enables true decentralized ownership, ensuring the community shapes the platform's future rather than a single corporate entity.

SKR: Powering the Web3 Mobile Flywheel

SKR, the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem, will serve as the engine that powers the Solana Mobile platform. The SKR token will furnish verification systems across every layer of TEEPIN, while creating sustainable incentive mechanisms that keep the ecosystem growing. Solana Mobile is committed to distributing SKR tokens directly to builders and users to empower active ecosystem participation and keep the flywheel spinning.

Developers
For developers, this creates opportunities to reach users worldwide without gatekeepers or roadblocks standing in your way. You can connect directly with passionate crypto users, avoid the high fees charged by traditional app stores, and don't have to worry about sudden rule changes blocking your crypto apps. It means incentives to build at the cutting edge of Web3, to experiment with new primitives and new models to create unique experiences that are mobile-first. Solana Mobile is also committed to supporting a sustainable grants and hackathon program.

Users
For users, the SKR flywheel means exclusive access to cutting-edge dApps that aren't available anywhere else, incentives for participation and engagement, and community-driven assurance that applications are trustworthy. Being a Solana Mobile user means you can own your assets, own your experience, share in the value you help create in an app ecosystem, and participate in deciding its future.

Hardware Manufacturers
The ecosystem welcomes OEMs and hardware manufacturers to integrate Solana Mobile platform capabilities into their devices. This provides access to the growing Web3 mobile economy while allowing manufacturers to maintain control over their implementations, adhering to platform standards that ensure device trustworthiness.

Guardians
Community leaders serve as Guardians, validating devices and applications while ensuring platform integrity. These participants help maintain network standards and guide ecosystem development through decentralized governance.

An Open Mobile Ecosystem

Solana Mobile's web3 mobile evolution is already well underway. Seeker devices begin shipping August 4, 2025 worldwide, bringing hardware Seed Vault security, Genesis Tokens, integrated Seed Vault Wallet, Seeker ID, and an updated dApp Store to over 150,000 early adopters. This represents just the beginning of a broader expansion to an open mobile ecosystem where developers can build without restrictions, users maintain control over their digital experiences, and all participants share in the value they help generate.
